Unbelievable. Confusing, too. Like, even though it's a shyt move to have a fake vax card, I understand why people would do it to live everyday life. But if you know you have Covid and have to go to the hospital, why wouldn't you want them to have accurate info about yourself?

Beyond sad we're back to square one.
is this just gonna keep happening? :mjcry:

Another thing the unvaxxed folks don't take into consideration is they keep saying there's only a 1% chance they'll die if they get it. Okay, fine. But man...a 1% chance every year for the rest of your life is not the same as a 1% chance. And it may even be a couple times a year if you're prone to getting sick.

If we're all looking at dealing with Covid forever, do people really want to play Russian Roulette with a hundred-chamber revolver once or twice every single year from now on?

I don't know what 1% every year for a human lifespan averages out to be, but it's gotta be uncomfortably higher than 1%, right?

For ya'll who are getting boosters are you mix and matching or sticking to the og?

I had two Pfizer doses and thinking of going Moderna for booster. Anyone read/know of something that leans one way or the other?

3x moderna champ so I didn't even think about mixing after the previous studies I saw.

This came out earlier today
No need for Omicron-specific boosters currently, Fauci says

"Our booster vaccine regimens work against Omicron. At this point, there is no need for a variant-specific booster," Fauci told reporters at a White House briefing.

He said the neutralizing activity of two doses of Moderna's (MRNA.O) COVID-19 vaccine is "substantially low" against Omicron, citing data from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, of which he is director.

"However, if you look at two weeks post the third dose, note the substantial degree of elevation of the neutralizing title; well within the range of neutralizing Omicron," he said of the study's findings, on which Moderna collaborated with the NIAID.

BioNTech (22UAy.DE)and Pfizer (PFE.N)said last week that a three-shot course of their vaccine was able to neutralize Omicron in a laboratory test, but two doses resulted in significantly lower neutralizing antibodies. read more

could mix it up for peace of mind and why not

If I had anything other than moderna originally I would probably choose it for the booster

I asked the nurse and the doctor each how things had been around there, and thanked them and told them I appreciated all they do. They both told me that it's exhausting, because the doctor said that "99% of the people coming in here for Covid are unvaccinated". I can't imagine how it feels for these people to be so fukking stressed out and to know that so much of this stress would be preventable if people would just stop being babies over it.

I've talked a lot in this thread about how I feel for frontline and healthcare workers during the pandemic, but this was my first time being in an ER with people that are having to deal with it daily. To be honest all the nurses and docs looked pretty exhausted.
:mjcry:
In fact they seem to be leaving bedside treatment, specially nurses, according to this thread:
