I got my Pfizer booster shot on Monday. Super sore arm still. Mild fever yesterday and some mild aches but the fever is gone today. Mostly feel back to normal besides the sore arm. Should be good tomorrow.

This really makes me mad. When the HPV vaccine finally came out, I was just 6 months too old to get it. I would’ve loved to have had it. The fact that so many people could get it and don’t want it is crazy. A lot of men get HPV and carry it to women but never show symptoms themselves. And like you said, HPV strongly raises the risk of cervical cancer in women.
People are so stupid.

I had to go to the ER last Monday night because I thought I broke my arm during BJJ practice, and I heard someone in another room back there that couldn't stop coughing and it sounded like they were gasping for air. It was a pretty disturbing sound and I haven't heard anything quite like it before.
I asked the nurse and the doctor each how things had been around there, and thanked them and told them I appreciated all they do. They both told me that it's exhausting, because the doctor said that "99% of the people coming in here for Covid are unvaccinated". I can't imagine how it feels for these people to be so fukking stressed out and to know that so much of this stress would be preventable if people would just stop being babies over it.
I've talked a lot in this thread about how I feel for frontline and healthcare workers during the pandemic, but this was my first time being in an ER with people that are having to deal with it daily. To be honest all the nurses and docs looked pretty exhausted.

I believe so. And this is anecdotal but when I was in the ER last week the nurses and doctors I talked to told me they've never really gotten a break since this all started. The OG version, Delta, Omicron...they said it's basically been a constant treading of water for them since it started, and they did add that since the vaccine came out, 95-99% of the people coming into the ER for Covid have all been unvaccinated.

This one hurt. My cousin, He’s only about 8 years older than me. Has school age children and a wife. He lost his mom to Covid last year, my aunt.

shyt, that was heavy. My heart was pumping during that. The doctor painted a picture. Very vivid and intense.My heart breaks for this man. I'm sure countless others are doing the same thing as him.
The amount of wonderful human beings that will never even think about going to med school or entering the healthcare field at all right now is a number we might probably won't ever know. I'm guessing it's a higher number than most people realize. There are going to be serious long terms consequences of potentially great doctors and nurses choosing not to go down that path due to these kinds of stories.
