In the Silver Lining
You're definitely right in that bats are the most likely original carriers of the disease, although they're hibernating around this time of the year, so there must have been an intermediate crossover to another species. Bats have always been known to carry virulent diseases e.g ebola. So that article you just posted is moot, since it would mean that this particular virus had to have evolved, before it was able to pass on to humans :yeshrug:. Good try though

Did you not see the big bold red part where it says “The only impact of this work is the creation, in a lab, of a new, non-natural risk.”

Did you miss That Part?

Oooh I did , but once again I did agree that it originated in bats, but it's most likely to have used an intermediate species before it made the jump to humans, it doesn't make sense to weaponize anything in such a way...would literally be reliant on so many factors out of your control.

For the brehs keeping up with this, Has this reached peak level yet and should slow down soon or we still a going up? :sadcam:

In Wuhan, probably. Everywhere else.. not even close.

keep an eye on S Korea, Japan, and Iran.. they have epidemics on the verge and could likely have similar outbreak numbers as China (in the 10s of thousands) before this time next month.

Well this looks more promising than going to Thailand
Depends on how well controlled.. if it’s actually only a handful of cases and they are effectively tracing all of the contacts .. then yea..

That’s definitely not happening in Iran tho..

but yea you right, a better look than Thailand at this point

A neighbor of mine was talking Whatsapp to his friend in Saudi and breh had a full facemask on even during the call. :merchant:

I think it's the old MERS coronavirus still kicking around that they're scared of and the new one hasn't hit yet though. :whoa:

I’d totally forgot to correlate this virus and the risk of spread with the Olympic games in Tokyo this summer :lupe: :damn:
