Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
Dear Colleagues,
I want to provide an update on the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and the actions being taken by TCO as of February 20, 2020.
Republic of Kazakhstan status
The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan has announced that as of February 20, 2020, travelers arriving in Kazakhstan from certain countries will be divided into three categories and be subject to measures aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19.
As of February 20, 2020 these categories have been revised as follows:

Measures to be taken

China
Individuals arriving from or who have visited China will be quarantined for 14 days from their last day in China in an isolated hospital unit. From the date of discharge, these individuals will be subject to 10 days of medical monitoring, which will take place by telephone on a daily basis.

Singapore, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Macao
Individuals arriving from these countries will be placed under mandatory health monitoring at their place of residence for 14 days. For 10 days following this period, medical monitoring will continue daily by telephone.

The United States, Malaysia, Vietnam, Germany, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Canada and Italy
Individuals arriving from these countries will be subject to 24 days of daily medical monitoring by telephone following their arrival to Kazakhstan.

What TCO is doing
We have activated the TCO Crisis Management Team (CMT), and are currently working with the RoK Government to gain clarity on these recently announced measures.
There is currently no change to TCO’s travel advice, however the CMT is actively reviewing this situation and will provide further clarification on travel and health monitoring requirements as this information becomes available.
Travel from Mainland China/Hong Kong (including transits through China / Hong Kong airports) into Kazakhstan for all TCO employees and agency contractors remains restricted.
What you should do
Individuals who are in Tengiz or Atyrau locations who experience fever and flu-like symptoms should self-report to the TCO medical team by using these contact numbers
