Oh, no. Messi is teflon forever after the 2022 WC win. But let's put it this way: Messi will be be treated like royalty, like the greatest "king" that ever lived. Diego was God walking among them.

Even if the younger generations say Messi was "better" as a player, they will still say Diego was different. And there's almost 40 years of a narrative around Maradona that Messi will never have. It's two different kinds of love/devotion towards two very different idols.
