Soccer fans are as loyal to their teams as anybody......they literally sit in the stands sobbing after random losses during the season. They're not running around dikkriding a player from country to country and team to team. Any Messi/Ronaldo stan has a favorite club they're loyal too and I can guarantee that. In England you'll find PLENTY of die hard Messi stans but their favorite team is Chelsea or Arsenal or Liverpool and they club loyalty comes first. I know hella Africans that are die hard Messi stans but their favorite clubs are from England, a country Messi never played in.

At what point did I ever get run out of the World Cup thread? And at what point did I claim to be an expert? I've been open about being an "only care about the World Cup" semi-soccer fan, and I was in the thread all the way to the end.
The only big argument I had was making fun of the guys who were big-upping goal stats when the majority of Messi's goals were on penalty kicks that he didn't even draw himself. You don't have to be an expert to realize that happening to get a lot more penalty chances than the other players got isn't a particularly impressive accomplishment by itself.
