The lineup to start the 4th: LeBron, Walker, Vando, Dennis, Rui. No spacing = LeBron jacking up 3s especially when Reaves, D'Angelo and AD aren't out there. Terrorist Ham strikes again.:francis:

Dennis
Reaves
Rui
Bron
AD

I've been calling for that too be the main lineup since before the series started and doubled down on it yesterday. You can stick Walker in for Dennis at times too. Reality proving me right again.

Bron is close to averaging a triple double. The assists he's racking up is making up somewhat for his lack of scoring. His lack of assists is why those Warriors/Grizzlies losses were blowouts imo (not the only reason, but the low scoring/low assists stuff didnt help)

However, Bron has to figure out a way to shoot 22 to 25 times imo. And that doesnt account for settling for 3s He has to score 30+ in 4 games the rest of the series. He just has too. Apply maximum pressure on the refs to give him 10+ fts as well.

He has to because he's dealing with a 2nd option in Murray thats putting up 34 a game. Bron's 24 isnt enough.
I want him to do it too, I just don't think he can. There are times in the first quarter he looked gassed in Denver. I think this version of Bron is just what we are getting for the rest of the playoffs. A few smarter plays and we would have won.

I'm sad as fukk tbh. Nothing is EVER easy with this team.
Its disappointing for sure. Again game 1 seemed like the game they were meant to steal, but were working against Ham's inexperience to start that game.

However, Nuggets did what they had to. Now the Lakers have to protect home court. Pressure is going to be crazy. Only time to panic is if they lose one of the next two.

Something to remind people who can't think straight.

MJ in 1998 was more than 3 years younger than Bron is now... and he had damn near stopped driving. Was shooting 75-80% jumpers at that point. That's why he had fallen to 46% FG in the 1998 postseason and all the way down to 42.7% by the 1998 Finals.

At 38yo with an injured foot, Bron ain't going to drive to the hole all game. It's not physically possible. You can say he shouldn't shoot threes at all (funny, that's the opposite critique y'all used to have of him), but claiming he can beat fools off the dribble forever is ridiculous.

At least we've finally deaded that idiotic Kobestan narrative, "I don't care if he misses, at least he was willing to take the shot!"

Funny to watch y'all pull the 180 on that one. :pachaha:
Which is why he should be working out of the post more ..like most great players do as they age out of athletic dominance …but he’d rather put up nasty 3 point attempts during his historic drought …it’s just not smart basketball ultimately and it bails the defense out …he’s had success in the post whenever he’s consistently went to it these playoffs …let’s see if his IQ overrides ego moving forward

No... no no no

We can't expect Bron to be 2012 Bron, being an elite 2 way player on both ends of the floor. I get what you're saying, but we need his defense. He's been so great on that end and we've been close. He barely has his legs after playing 40+ minutes, and having to guard Jokic/Murray/MPJ for large stretches.

I get it that people only want to look at offensive stats and that side of the ball, but he gives the team so much more than that. He's been our best rebounder this series as well.

AD has to be the guy to be consistent on the offensive end. We will get outscored easily with a Bron who puts all his effort on the offensive end of the floor. Denver on that side of the ball is too good

He’s been getting cooked by Bruce Brown of all people too lol … he’s largely been bad these playoffs …his decision making in transition is nasty …so many dumb turnarounds and 3s before he has a teammate under the rim to rebound …don’t really know what Ham does with him because Dennis hasn’t been much better

I guess Reaves and AD needed a blow which I get, but probably can't sit two of Bron, AD and Reaves at that point of the game and as bad as he's been I'd rather see D'Angelo out there if you HAVE to sit Reaves, especially with Brown not out there.

Overall I think the gameplan tonight was actually good. We played well for most of 3 quarters (that 10 point drought in the middle of the 3rd was hard as fukk) but ultimately we know what to do. AD gotta be more aggressive in the post and get closer to the rim and Bron gotta choose better shots or find better passes. We know what it's gonna take to beat these dudes just gotta execute better.

The HOPE is that Denver altitude was working against him as well. Cant have that excuse in LA. Denver is probably the most dominant team at home. And the Lakers were close to beating them. Whether a game 5 or game 7 they'd have to truly put it all together/find the 2nd wind to get it done. But they only get there by taking care of business at home.

Gotta protect home court. Gotta have big Bron games.

This is cap, milking the clock... eh maybe, but LeBron jacking tired stepback 3s was never Bron Ball.
misleading would be taking +/- for a quarter. LeBron played 40 minutes and the Lakers won those minutes, even with him going "rogue" and jacking up 3s/smoking layups. In the 8 minutes he sat they were outscored by 9. He wasn't perfect tonight on offense, you can even argue he was bad (I would) and the Lakers still win the game if they can survive the minutes he's not on the floor. Tonight they couldn't.
A team losing minutes with a star on the bench isn’t new. It isn’t an anomaly.

What IS an anomaly is a player who’s missed 19 straight 4th quarter 3s taking three straight iso 3s in retaliation to being boo’d. :laff:

Even prime LeBron is not going to be able to post against any halfway competent defense when he's surrounded by Vando, Dennis, Lonnie Walker and Rui. :unimpressed:
