Indy ain't fiending for the cap space.

As for Charlotte, even without this trade and with a looming LaMelo extension, they're well below the cap next summer. If anything you're just replacing Hayward with Lowry just so he can be LaMelo's backup.

We don't know what Indy wants...They trade Brogdon for basically nothing.

Charlotte would be getting rid of Rozier's 4 yr 96m contract.......Oubre/Washington will be FA next offseason, and they still haven't re-signed M.Bridges (Legal Issues)....That's 3 big potential contracts not including LaMelo.

they got a first rounder out of it next season

We don't know whether Charlotte wants to dump Rozier's deal after giving him an extension a year ago. Even with his deal, it's just him and one more year of Hayward as big contracts entering a summer where the FA class sucks. They're nowhere near the tax next summer.

The problem is that by holding onto Hayward/Rozier, Charlotte might sneak into the play-in the game and hurt their draft position.

The Lakers need to try to pull off this trade...At least make an attempt.

Miami gets- Rozier & Theis

Indiana gets- Westbrook, Nunn, and 1 first rd pk from LA (top 5 protected)

Charlotte gets- Lowry, 1 first rd pk from MIA (top 5 protected), and (2) 2nd rd pks from LA.

Reasons why teams would make trade:

Charlotte needs cap space to sign current/future FA (MJ will not pay luxury tax on a borderline playoff/play-in team)...Trading Rozier/Gordan guarantees Charlotte a spot in the lottery. Charlotte gets cap space and has the option of buying Lowry out or trading his expiring contract next season for a draft pick or player.

Indiana gets cap space and a pick...They hold on to Turner and trade him in another deal (Brooklyn)

Miami gets one of the most productive PGs in the league and a solid backup post (Theis)...They also get rid of Lowry's contract.

LA adds much-needed scoring, 3 pt shooting, and a backup post (Plumlee)

G- Dennis
G- Hield
C- AD
F- LeBron
F- Hayward
6- walker
7- Reave
8- Plumlee
9- Beverley

Or you can start Beverley and bring Dennis off the bench

If push comes to shove and you have to give up a 2nd first rd pick, do it.

If I told you Indiana would trade Brogdon for a bunch of spare parts and a top 12 protected pick you would've laughed.

If I told you Detroit would trade J.Grant to Portland for a potentially low 1st rd pk and (2) 2nd rd pks you would've laughed.

If I told you Utah would trade Govert for 5 first rd picks you would've laughed.

The trade I proposed wouldn't be any worse than the aforementioned trades.....Teams value different things...I believe Charlotte/Indiana wants picks, cap space and young players while Miami/LA wants to win a championship.

Let me stop you right there. No, we aren't taking on Rozier's contract and trading a first to dump Lowry when he is expiring after next season.

I like Hields offense to be honest.

Turner is looking soft as fukk.
There's a reason Rob tried to trade for him in the first place. He'd be a great fit as a spot-up shooter.

Turner's never been all that. He's alright but there's a reason Indy's been dangling him for three years without any takers.

Yeah outside of blocking shots and shooting the occasional 3 he's useless.

Would you prefer the Spurs deal for Poeltl, Richardson, Mcdermott?
