I’ll say this breh. Harder drums have almost never made me like a beat less. 90% of the time I think hard drums are the right choice. There are some very few exceptions. Some old Wu joints like Daytona 500, Liquid Swords...or The Releast by Mobb Deep or Elizabeth by WSG. But there aren’t many beats with light drums that I love. If it’s not a fukkin perfect sample, then adding drums almost always makes that shyt better by default.

I like the beats that Benny picks from producers. Doesn’t matter who. Daringer. Alc. Shay. Skizz. Whoever. I can only think of like 2 or maybe 3 beats out of Benny’s last 3 projects (BOS, TT3, TPIM) that don’t have hard drums. On TT3 I kept waiting for a drumless beat and didn’t get one until the very last track (All 70).


Conway and WSG both pick a lot of beats with light to no drums. And WSG has the better ear between the 2 of them IMO.

Hawks is one of my favorite joints on here but I like that verse better over the Just Blaze/State Property joint.

I feel you son...95 mentality cappadonna and definately killaz theme by mega and mobb are two bangers i love with light drums..its just something about machine i dont like..i love his flow voice and way he spits its bothers me i cant get wavy with his music..like joelz ortiz last ish he got fire beats that match his lyrics need both aspects imo

so far for me it's a tie between tito's back & you madeit for my favorite track. only complaint i got after one listen is that my nikkas gunn & camino chose not to rhyme on this joint. westside especially man, that track was made for his voice b. that high pitched grimy with the off kilter pianos? stop it

oh and that trap shyt ain't it to me. i'm probably one of a few griselda fans who loves trap beats a lot. preach by young dolph is a blassic to me. but that's not con's lane yall lol. lyrically dope but sounded forced to me. that's like my nikka quavo doing a feature on sky & pete rock joint. would sound weird kinda like conway does. props on trying something different tho but it ain't for me

Agreed. I don't know what Dave East especially heard. Jim's verse was tolerable. This project is ok. Conway needs to put out the album already.

Can you post these tracks/albums where he fell off? Cause in the last 6 years he's released Albert Einstein, Fetti, Carrollton Heist, 360 Waves, Lord Steppington, and that short Yacht Rock 2 project from the last 2 weeks.
