When WSG says he's retiring I kinda believe him because he was never really into rapping anyways. I don't believe Conway or Benny if they're saying they're retiring. They're just starting to get some crossover love, and they're legitimate emcees that clearly love the craft and like to work. Gunn has a lot of other interests. I know he bought ownership in a wrestling promotion, and he's into fashion and stuff. I can believe he's ready to be done with rapping and move onto other things. The other 2 not as much.These bros (WSG and Con) must be really retiring with all these projects dropping

I always think it's weird when stuff with all original production is called a mixtape. It started being weird for me when Section 80 by Kendrick and Return of 4Eva by Krit were called mixtapes. Both of those felt like albums to me. I was surprised to find out as time went on that they were considered mixtapes.
It's especially weird to call a lot of these Griselda projects mixtapes when they have actual mixtapes. All of them have that On Steroids series with Green Lantern where they rap over old beats from Jay-Z, Pun, Black Rob, GZA, Sean Price, etc. To me, that's what a mixtape is. a MIX of original joints, freestyles, remixes, etc. It's a mix of different shyt. Hence the name. If it's all original material, then it's not a mix of anything.
I mean I know debating this or arguing my point is stupid in 2020, because everyone calls everything a 'tape' now. Even genuine albums where the artist says it's called an album (like Alfredo or Tea in China) are still called mixtapes by many fans.
I remember when Bishop Lamont was dropping albums with a level producers but they we're called 'street albums'. His aftermath debut never came out yet he had three legit albums under his belt.

That’s why he mentioned his disdain for the industry politics. He been on some fukk the industry now that he’s moving with Shady because they are the ones pushing back the album and Hall and Nash 2. I feel like they never should’ve signed to them
