To be honest I don't remember saying Rondo was the most important player on the Celtics, so I'm confused as to why I'm mentioned.

Maybe I dapped a post that bigged up Rondo or something.

To me it goes KG>Rondo>Bradley>Pierce for this season.

Nobody's gonna remember that shyt...everyones gonna remember them losing to the Heat for the 2nd straight year...and Chris Bosh being absent from 4 of those games. And then Ray Allen switching sides on some "if you can't beat em...join em" type shyt.

Lebron is the best player in the world, but I think Rajon Rondo is top 5 in the NBA. If Rajon had a jump shot and good free throw shooting form, he'd be the 2nd best player in the world in my opinion. Those two weaknesses is what makes him a top 5-10 player and not a top 3 one. I hope he can rectify it in the future.

No. I feel Rondo is the best player on the Celtics but what KG does for the team is just as if not more important than what Rondo does for them. If KG was in his prime, though, he's the better player. Age and attrition has brought him down a few notches, but he's still an amazing player.

Naw, that wasn't the reason they got their 'ass kicked'. They didn't win because there wasn't an equal enough balance on both sides. Most of the time thats just different ways to describe 1 person. for this team though it's not. rondo is the best player but garnett is the most important. if rondo doesn't work out they can trade him for some high quality assets and skip years of rebuilding. Garnett doesn't give them those same luxuries, so they rely on him more to be great. if he falls off the celtics lose a great player and get nothing in return. if rondo falls off they can trade him for somebody else.

Based on last season - KG is still a better player than rondo, all this future-upside/youth/trade bait argument in favor of rondo still doesn't negate the fact that KG was/is still the better player.

He's still playing at an elite level. His impact is basically the same and his #'s are basically the same since he's been at the Celtics. Infact he probably had more clutch games (levelling out the amount of games) these past playoffs than he did in the 10/11 playoffs.
