Garnett was the most important player for the Celtics in the '11/'12 season.

Why is it that the folk that make up the majority opinion think otherwise? Is this just their hatred for KG? Or is it their inability to understand how the game really works?

Easily too on both sides of the ball. They won because of their dominant league leading D which was anchored by KG and completely collapsed without him on the court. They lost though(similar to the last few years) because their offense is one of the worst in the League

The folk that make up the majority opinion love Garnett. It's just :hamster:/the-coli that hates him and focuses on "bytchassness" as opposed to on court performance and savvy. Rondo's still more important tho.

When Rondo is pushing the tempo, hustling and grabbing boards the Celts can run with anybody. Just sucks that he is clearly a blatantly bipolar type player who has those random type nights.

Kg definately controls that defense tho seems he found the fountain of youth tho.

Celts are a weird ass team , they are blatantly old as shyt, yet when Rondo gets to running with Sully/Lee/ a healthy Green they might run cats off the court while the older cats rest.

Wait..... what?

What end of the court were the Celtics most consistant, effective and dominant at? What end of the court was the MAJOR reason for the Celtics' success this past season?

Yes, the folk that make up the majority love Garnett. Have you ever heard a negative word about Garnett from ESPN, TNT or NBA TV? He's had a positive reputation since the Minny days. His antics have always been looked upon as playing hard and being savvy/a veteran playing mind games to throw off the other team's concentration.

Yes, the Celtics are a defensive team and rely on consistency on that end. When it comes to importance, a 26 yr old Rondo is more important to the Celtics than a 36 yr old Garnett who it wasn't sure was even returning to the team this season when they got bounced last season. Garnett brings a lot to the table defensively as far as leadership and on court performance, but defense is the philosophy under Rivers regardless of Garnett's presence or not. Who is going to run that offense if you take Rondo out? They lose a ton if you take either away, but the loss of Rondo would be more detrimental imo.
