Let me piggyback off this one.

"Character driven" movies are usually massively overrated. Unfortunately, more often than not, it means that there's not a whole lot of plot. Also means that you're probably going to asked to invest in a "deeply flawed" main character, which usually just means they're a shytty person meant to "challenge the audience".

Rotten Tomatoes has ruined opinions on movies, and to an extent, had a negative effect on how and what movies get made.

I really enjoy Get Out, but objectively speaking, it's not as good a movie as it's made out to be. It was very much a case of being the right movie that came out at the right time. That said, it still might be the most effective tool ever in explaining the general discomfort of being the only black person at a gathering of white people.

Forgot to add... long drawn out scenes where we learn about the character through subtle actions it can be walking down the street, eating, smoking, shytting, etc.. it can be anything but it will be long boring and drawn out.

I hate how they portray the 80's and 90's almost solely with a bunch of pop songs and movie references and a overt obvious imitation John Carpenter synth heavy score. It never feels authentic to me and comes across like someone who watched a bunch of 80's [or 90's]movies to get that "feel".

• John Bernthal’s Punisher was only The Punisher in DD season 2. They made him into Wolverine in his on show.
• Mike Colter was a horrible Luke Cage. Dude was corny af.
• Tom’s Spider-Man trilogy is overrated. It lacks so much soul. It feels like a Disney channel movie.
• Ned, MJ, and May had no character what so ever. Why should you care about theses characters? We don’t know anything about them lol. They only there to make jokes. At least Andrew’s and Tobey’s side characters had a purpose.
• The Russo Brothers got T’challa right. Coogler did my boy dirty.
• Black Widow shouldn’t had her russian accent.
• The MCU did my boys Hulk and Hawkeye dirty.
• Daredevil is the only good marvel show. The others are ok at best.
• Marvel should had worked something out with Terrence Howard. Cuz Don Cheadle‘s Rhodey was trash!

MCU has been corny for almost a decade with every superhero following the same model of being a part time comedian. It works and it sells.

I can accept a racc00n beating up a man before I can sit and watch these girl power movies where a scrawny woman is beating up trained men twice their weight.

Black Panther was not overrated. Anyone who thinks that BP was overrated needs to stop comparing it to infinity wars, and start comparing it to other debut hero movies like Captain American, Hulk, Batman (prior to this new one), Thor, etc. BP is leagues above the majority of debut hero movies

Man Of Steel is the longest anti depressant commercial I’ve ever seen. Also, Henry Cavill is one of the worse versions of Superman

Oh I agree. And I loved the moment. But my fear now is that our inability to be honest about the quality issues with Black Panther means the following movies won't hit like the first time.

Here's a bonus contrarian opinion: Two white directors gave us a better realized Black Panther than a black director. Civil War's Blank Panther was better than the depiction in his own movie. From voice, to costume, to swagger and character arc
