six months before the green mile movie is released steven king is walking in his neighborhood and his hit from behind by a minivan
the person driving the minivan says he was distracted by his dog which was in the vehicle and he lost control
the driver of the minivan was given a 6 month suspended sentence after hitting one of the most famous authors on the planet

the person driving the minivan happens to die on steven king's birthday under suspicious circumstances which is later ruled an overdose
