“There’s dignity in work, whatever that work is,” a conservative commentator clapped back after Ben Shapiro said: "If you had to work more than one job to have a roof over your head... That'd be a you problem.”

Conservative commentator rips Shapiro for saying: It's a 'you problem' if you work multiple jobs

Really?

I think he might be low-key sabotaging his own base. The racist-wing conservatives don't like that he's Jewish. The ideological-wing conservatives don't like that he's just a kid who tried to put himself on top from the beginning without ever paying his dues. The corporate-wing conservatives don't give a shyt about anything he says. And now he's shytting on working class conservatives who are always complaining about their wages and how the man is screwing them over?

I'm not really sure who his base is at this point. He's trying to latch on to that IDW identity but I doubt many of the others in that movement have any respect for him at all.

Honestly, it’s not particularly worth engaging with these people seriously. But, as ever, their instant conniptions over the notion that America is stained at its core by racism is very instructive. What they are asking is that the lies about the United States that have sustained them for so many years be preserved, because, as Erickson (perhaps inadvertently) hit on so accurately, once you accept the very basic reality that we are a country founded on the backs of slaves, you start asking other questions about the myths we tell ourselves so persistently—and that terrifies a hell of a lot of people.

I just posted about it in here Friday:yeshrug:
moreso talking about elite media that controls the narrative in the country

we've been posting about Portland on and off since the first round of protests back in 2017 (?). However, I don't think most voters could even tell you the level of shyt that's going on over there with the mayor and the police chief.

Shapiro's response:

Stop there for one second. Ok, "plutocrats," like what, rule by the rich. Let me explain something, I was middle class the vast majority of my life — the vast majority of my life. I know people like to make up kind of fake histories about where I came from and all … . I was born in a two-bedroom small house in Burbank, on Ontario Street, and that small house had one bathroom and six people in it. I shared a bedroom with three sisters until I was 11 years old; we were middle middle class. We were certainly not upper class — we were certainly not rich. And you know what, my parents worked their a** off to make it so that our life was better and good for them. And they did so by working multiple jobs. They did so by making personal decisions.

Shapiro's mom is a Hollywood executive and his dad was a composer who spent most of his time as a stay-at-home dad. He's bragged before that his mom "runs companies." At 13 Shapiro was attending Yeshiva University High School, which currently charges $35,900/year tuition. At 20 he had his first book published and at 21 he was attending Harvard Law.

How arrogant an a$$hole do you have to be to believe that's the "middle class" experience?
