on one hand you have an all time talent in a pure, raw form vs. the other--- a watered down, comeback by numbers, save face album geared to hustle young fans with the heavy Kanye co sign and castrated version of a former great.

i'm totally indifferent to 'Be'. that album basically doesn't even exist in my world.

yeah thats more or less how i feel about it. I like 3 or so tracks on it...as a whole be is underwhelming at the very, very least.

cibad is a more complete album. people just have a hard time listening to that album because its not conventional and type of flow/delivery common was doing on it got out of fashion very fast.

CABID and unamerican caravan are in another zone lyrically. and sonically they hold their own too.

even resurrection, while personally my personal favorite of com's, arguably isnt as lyrical as cabid...the other albums of his are no competition.

most people who dont like cabid dont like old school rap...and when I say old school I mean pre 92

a lot of the same nikkas will tell you they dont listen to cubes old albums because they sound dated.

cuz otherwise I dont see how anyone can be a fan of old school hip hop and common and NOT like CABID or unamerican caravan

^^^agreed. Plus a lot of the stuff the pop culture references will go right over the heads of a young listener.

"i didn't see CB4 cuz i heard that shyt was wack"

that's exactly what it was with that movie. spot on. but that would make no sense to a young dude.

'Blows To The Temple' is a better beat than every single song off 'Be'.

i just really have a hard time believeing anyone saying cibad is wack.

when charm's alarm is one of the best records from that entire era.

plus it comes on at the very top of the record and seamlessly transitions from an incredible opening.

the toys shyt has to stop.

For the record, I own Resurrection (In my top 5/10 albums of all time), ODIWAMS, Finding Forever, Be, and Dreamer, Believer.

I'm iffy on getting LWFC, but I have been wanting to cop CIBAD for awhile.

I liked it, but it's definately not an album you'd go back to after 20+ years without hearing, unless you just want to hear what he evolved from. He was on that 'goofy shyt' heavy on that album.
