I don't mind Cyborg, but that push they gave him.... :scusthov:

Honestly it's a lot of characters that folks think I hate, but really I just hate their stans.

Iron Man. And I don't mean the current version. I've been a fan since he was just a complete dirt bag in shiny tin suit getting no shine being grimy AF and let me tell you, it was lonely out in these streets. There were NO fans, not even the writers.

The absolute renaissance that's happened to @Ironman is still stunning to see.

Oh @Bryan Danielson they're blaspheming against Asta ITT. :picard:
this reminds me of when I read iron comics after seeing the movie
it was jarring as F.

The movies did a good job of making him a social a$$hole but a competent hero.
Civil war is the closest we've gotten to comic book tony and even then they made you sorta feel for him

Cyborg. Big strong breh with no genitals. Boring asf.

:dame:

The version of him on doom patrol tv show is the best version I've ever seen and I'm including comics and its basically because they gave him actual character flaws, a little insecurity but some self-awareness to work through it.

I love Johnny :manny:

I like Johnny when he's with other characters. The last time was the 3-in-1 books. (on the reciprocal, Lunella should be a fan favorite).

I didn't think Quicksilver had any fans, so I don't see the point adding him (or Scarlet Witch).

Since I said Kitty, I might as well add her beau. Colossus is up there for the worst of X-main characters. His role in defeating the Legacy virus was the best thing he ever did. Muscle of the group that doesn't do ish.

Prof X is another. The idea of him is so romanticized, that is completely overpowers how the actual character is a POS.

I don't think there's a DC character so horrible, that's gotten a push like Cyborg. Since the 70's, everywhere you turn, they shoehorn him in there. Like every 3 years, there's a Cyborg push. He should've long faded into obscurity, no be some household name.

I'll be real. I like the Fantastic Four, if we're going to be real. The OG Lee/Kirby Fantastic Four and John Byrne runs are solid.

- The F4 laid the foundation for pretty much every team-based superhero comicbook story worth anything
- It was the first to showcase superheroes that lived semi-normal lives out of costume and weren't these perfect paragons (Reed and Sue's marriage issues, Johnny's impulsiveness, Ben's personal issues over his appearance and relationship with Alicia Masters, etc.)
- It gave us some of the GOAT Marvel characters like Dr. Doom, Galactus, Black Panther, Silver Surfer, etc.

I think the X-men surpassed the F4 with that Dark Phoenix Saga/Days of Future Past one-two-punch, but I still respect the Fantastic Four for coming up with the recipe. It just sucks that they never had a successful anything in terms of adapations or spinoffs outside of the books. In the comics, I like the Fantastic Four more than the Avengers, tbh. (IMO the Avengers are a boring crew outside of the movies.)

Colossus had his moments in the Claremont years. When he bodied Riptide in the Mutant Massacre :whoo:
His relationship with Kitty Pryde has MAJOR  overtones: though.

Professor X was a much better character back in the Jim Shooter days though. In fact, most of the X-men were at their best in the 70s and early 80s, IMO.
Like I mentioned earlier, they messed up Cyclops' character with X-factor where the writers had him abandon his family behind Chris Claremont's back.
They haven't really known what to do with Storm since Chris Claremont left the book.
Wolverine is way played out.
They cheapened the impact and of the Dark Phoenix Saga by bringing Jean back to life.
So many the iconic villains are good guys now, so there aren't too many interesting characters left for the X-men to fight (besides fighting each other over fake moral dilemmas, etc.).

I feel like a lot of comic characters got messed up by writers trying too hard to make every book Watchmen. Watchmen is cool, but not everyone needs to be some kind of anti-hero. They should have just let Prof. X be that saintly MLK jr. figure with the occasional questionable moment instead of making him a full-on scumbag.

I don't think he qualifies since I can see why he fans, but I still consider Gambit to be one of the most overrated X-men in existence (probably not as bad as Wolverine or Deadpool though).
Gambit is :banderas: in the cartoon, but he's mostly :snooze: to me everywhere else since he's so irrelevant to to the overwhelming majority of the best stuff in the actual comics.
But I think most of my apathy comes comes from my personal bias towards Jim Shooter-era marvel over the 90s books (with a couple of exceptions).

Hal Jordan. At this point, there's no reason to keep his boring ass around because there are 6 other human Green Lanterns (7 if we include Alan Scott, 8 if we include Teen Lantern) and literally all of them have more personality and potential as characters than Hal. What makes it worst is that DC creates all these other Green Lanterns but then has to constantly undermine them because they got to keep pushing the idea that Hal is "the greatest Green Lantern."

Why is he the greatest Green Lantern, exactly? Well, the real reason is he just so happened to be Green Lantern when Geoff Johns and a bunch of other white guys like him were kids reading DC. So even though characters like John Stewart and Kyle Rayner were *the* Green Lantern for 90s and 00 kids, and even though we specifically created characters like Jessica Cruz to appeal to modern audiences, we'll keep wheeling Hal out to satiate 45 year old cac nostalgia.

Also, Carol Danvers. I always call her "girl Hal Jordan" cause I swear she's just as boring as this nikka and just like Hal, she gets a massive push.

With the First Fam for me, it's like no writer really knows what to do with them, except take them off the board. Like I said with Johnny, their strength is having them play off one another, but once they started keeping them split up so much, that family dynamic was non-existent. Even currently with Franklin, he should be bonding with Ben more and more. Valeria and Johnny need more moments, etc etc.

Prof X - once he became the POS he now is, I've always said that there was no reason to keep him around anymore. He's one that should've died when he still had the MLK-isms and stayed dead, with the rest of the X-Men carrying on the dream, and how it gets applied to current times (whichever the current times are). Cyke really had the greatest progression of a hero...well, not now...but up to SW. he kicked X out, and assumed the true leader. You could see how him dealing with everything that happened to X over the years would result in him shifting viewpoints.

Does Danny ketch still have fans?
