I thought about that but I wanna stick to what I wrote. I messed up I'll take my lumps like a man. Plus then I gotta take something off and I already made enough sacrifices for the list I made. Could I take off Ace Ventura? Possibly but then I'd be lying to myself because that was the very first movie that ever made me cry from laughing so hard. 8 year old me would have a problem. Maybe I could replace Friday with it but that would also be a tad disingenuous on my part

and there was no way i could leave naked gun off. i cant think of any movie in the last 15 years that were funnier.

I feel ya on that, but for my list, I ignored my nostalgia and crying laughing memories at comedies and really sat down to determine what is personally funny (nostalgia) and what is just a truly funny, smart, and engaging film...so i left out most of the former (Ace Ventura had me crying laughing too when I was a kid, also Heavyweights, etc.); my final picks are movies that I watch often and never get old or unfunny...just perfect comedies

Word..which is why Ace is on because I still watch it and still laugh. And Jim Carrey is one of the greats so I wanted to represent him on my list. I didn't want to just pick the high brow stuff that represents me I wanted to pick some low brow stuff too and as a comedic performance, he is on fire in that movie

I have to be honest and say that I can't watch Ace Ventura anymore...maybe I watched it too much as a kid, but its just not funny anymore to me; I got Dumb and Dumber on there so he's represented well on there

I still can. Possibly cause I never outgrew it or because there is some adult stuff in there that I shouldn't have been watching as a kid so it still works for me. Dumb and Dumber still works too. I haven't watched the mask in forever so I can't speak on that one

Yeah it's more of a comedy action and he's more restrained. It probably works better as a comic adaptation than it does as a comedy.
