Even Emergency rooms don't solve everything. FOr instance. My younger brother (10 years old) will live the rest of his life without his father because while his dad was working he had liver problems, had insurance and had some stuff done and cut out. Was forced to use a colostomy bag. Fast forward 3 months and he get's let go from his job (all on the legit too), problem is he still has a bag with a tube inside of him. Now the surgery to remove the bag is costly, but not all that complicated. Now my brother's dad can't work cause he has a bag, he doesn't have insurance, can't get on state insurance, applied for disability and was denied, was basically shyt out of luck. Fast forward another 3 months and he's starting to have complications with the bag, he can't afford to have it removed and since the emergency room needs only "stabilize" people, they continue to do just that and send him home...bag in tow. Another 2 months and he passes away.
Quit literally he died because he couldn't get a simple procedure done because he had no money. AND it wasn't something the emergency room could do, or rather WOULD do.
