fdb! and some of y'all seriously copping please for her dumb azz too. :what:

let a michelle obama say something like the reason white people die at a higher rate of skin cancer complications than anyone else is because they spend way too much time tanning or applying cancerous products to their pasty non-melanated grey asses because they are jealous of the appearance of the beautiful brown skinned people of the world. she suggests the solution is keep your ghost looking azz inside or go back to the caucus mountains.

it's actually a very serious problem that needs to be addressed. :umad:

Marble went on to mention how Mexicans eat vegetables in Mexico but stop eating healthily when they immigrate to the United States.

This is actually a real issue, I read an article about health issues related to immigrants in Canada who went from eating very healthy back home to fast food in a couple of weeks (because healthy food is more expensive, and they many much more stressful things to manage than food) which in turn leads to serious health (and thus financial) issues. The rest of her quotes are stupid but this here is not. (it applies to a lot -not all- of immigrants everywhere, not only Mexicans in the US)

I'm black you idiot.

so why you copping please for this trick? talking about "to be fair..." foh. minorities aren't economically challenged because of fried chicken. she's correlating what we eat to our economic status. if that's not a fcuked up stereotype (which then leads to a prejudice) then i don't know what is.

Like I said, I feel she should have been more eloquent in what she was saying. But you can't argue that poor eating habits have an economic impact. I don't think from her statements that she was trying to be malicious or consciously racist. Again I'm not :cape: for her because I don't know who she is or what her politics are.....I'm just making a judgement based on her statements.

if you're saying she can't argue or back up that poor eating habits are any significant contributor of economic plight for minorities then i agree. if you're saying it is then you and her are both wrong.

and most people aren't consciously racist, stereotypical or prejudiced. it's ingrained in them and it manifests itself in different ways. seeing as this woman is a policy maker it is problematic for me that her stereotypes and potential prejudices can affect minorities. her being a gop senator in addition to that bullsh1t coming out her mouth doesn't afford her the benefit of a doubt to me.

I don't see anything racist here...its not really different from Michelle Obama's healthy stance. If you eat like crap health issues and obesity makes you lose motivation for any other success in life. Dealing with diabetes can't be good for building a successful career or focusing on your studies and parents dying early is definitely not good for the children that are left behind

fukk politics people are idiots who just get fed their side of the bullshyt propaganda...my side does it too look deeper at all stories and don't accept what is just said by your favorite pundit

I have lost patience for bytches like you for real

Rep. Lori Saine, Colorado Republican, Reportedly Eats Fried Chicken In 'Protest' At Poverty Hearing
The Huffington Post | By Meredith Bennett-Smith Posted: 09/06/2013 7:01 pm EDT

A Colorado lawmaker found herself in hot water after allegations that she brought fried chicken to a hearing on poverty as a "silent protest" against the proceedings.

State Rep. Lori Saine (R) sparked the controversy Wednesday after she positioned a Popeyes box in front of her during a meeting of the Economic Opportunity Poverty Reduction Task Force at the capitol building in Denver. The fast-food box had a symbolic purpose, some allege, in the context of a colleague's comments made at an Aug. 21 hearing, reports Talking Points Memo.

During the earlier hearing, a meeting of a Colorado legislative task force, state Sen. Vicki Marble (R) listed both barbecue and fried chicken in controversial comments regarding "problems in the black race."

“When you look at life expectancy, there are problems in the black race: sickle-cell anemia is something that comes up, diabetes is something that’s prevalent in the genetic makeup and you just can’t help it,” Marble said, according to TPM. “Although I’ve got to say, I’ve never had better barbeque and better chicken and ate better in my life than when you go down south and you -- I love it.”

Denver Fox affiliate KDVR reporter Eli Stokols, who was at the hearing this week, reported than an unnamed witness claimed to have overheard Saine telling Marble the chicken was part of a "silent protest" in solidarity with her colleague.

When confronted by the KDVR reporter, Saine laughed and said she was simply "having chicken for dinner. ... Would you like a [press conference] at my house?”

In a later interview with the Longmont Times-Call, Saine doubled down on her denial. She insisted no one could have heard her say she would silently protest.

"I was simply having lunch," she told the Times-Call.

It appears not everyone is buying her explanation, however. GOP party chairman Ryan Call says Saine should apologize, reports local NBC affiliate KUSA. "Rep. Saine's actions on Wednesday do not represent the Colorado Republican Party," Call said in a written statement. "They were insensitive and hurtful, and she must apologize for them."

This is not from The Onion people. I almost hope she does well in politics. We need a new Michele Bachmann.
