that idea that this woman is accomplishing something for the next year and a half that her replacement wouldn't be able to is so laughably, shockingly arrogant. she might be the worst person in DC
The issue isn't just her age it's the Senate rules. A new senator would've to be appointed with republican support. It's an easy layup for them if she steps down to obstruct. Blame voters for putting an old woman in office the last 16+ years

Wouldn't the replacement be named right away by Newsom? Thought that was the case when Harris became VP and her Senate seat had to be filled. Think the only hold up would be which Dem takes her spot, and even then, that wouldn't be something that could be held up.
