One of the many things I like about this is that the dialogue feels natural. It reminds me of Atlanta or many Spike films in the sense that it's just black people being...people. There is no "performative blackness" that you sense in some newer black shows/films where it seems more like the writer signaling something to the audience, or an inauthentic attempt to go viral. The characters and situations are certainly black here...but it's not an act, it's just life. Like you'd talk to your family or friends.
