I don't think the comparison is that farfetched...Colin is smart enough to know what he did would cost him his career. How many would be willing to sacrifice millions of dollars to take a stand?

"Millions of dollars" is different to me and you than it is to someone who is a millionaire

Colin is probably worth about $20 million dollars (if not more)

If the "average" person is worth let's say 10K liquid (and that is generous) the same proportional money is about $500 per million Colin has. And even then it's not even close because "losing" millions when you already have the buying power of millions of dollars to fall back on, the celebrity of a superbowl quarterback, and the ability to capitalize on yourself for profit, it's not like someone living check to check with 10k saved losing $500, it's a much lesser dent.

Rosa Parks was a woman of color living in the HOSTILE south traveling on a bus to get to work. She gave up her freedom (not her freedom to play quarterback for millions of dollars... her actual freedom) to stand by her principles.

None of that is to downplay Colin at all. I :salute: the hell out of dude. But him standing up against a private company like the NFL where the players are paid millions of dollars is nothing like a middle aged woman fighting against a state/government run company (like public transportation) and actually getting arrested.

The Land That Time Forgot
Let's hope that Kap's actions lead to some real change.

The Montgomery Bus Boycott shut down the city's transportation system for a year. It led to
racial segregation being declared unconstitutional in the Supreme Court.

But we're also wrong to view Rosa Parks in the light that we do.

Rosa's wasn't a solo act by far. She was a secretary at the NAACP. She was a brave member of
a brave team, and a brave community.

The gameplan for the Boycott was designed and quarterbacked by the unheralded legend Rev. E.D. Nixon.

It was E.D. Nixon who brought in a 26-year-old preacher from Atlanta to help with the movement.

Until he actually revoluntionizes or pioneers something, no.

that's not up to Kap , that's up to us the ppl.
what would happen if After Rosa sat, every day blk ppl rejected the proposal of a boycott???

thats the thing, alotta modern day negroes are lazy. they want leaders to do everything for them, while all they do is complain, not realizing that it's the people who are the movement. a leader may spark it , but its us everyday ppl that make shyt happens.
