As a Sunni, the difference lies is in the line of succession after the Prophet's death. Abu Bakr the Prophet's friend and the only person to ever lead prayers when the prophet was alive was elected unanimously and become Caliph. Shias believe Ali the Prophet's son in law should be the caliph, but Islam is not a monarchy. Eventually both Ali and Abu Bakr became Caliph anyway.

The difference between Orthodox islam and the NOI. In Islam God is one with no partners. NOI believes Fard was god in human flesh which is shirk(ascribing or the establishment of "partners" placed beside God). There are certain aspects of the nation of Islam that all muslims can agree are clearly incorrect.
