Colibrehs you've been made NBA commissioner with the task of fixing the NBA. You are guaranteed a 4 year contract to do so. What would you change?

I would remove the Shot Clock Reset rule and return it back to 24 seconds for offensive rebounds . The tempo of the game needs to slow the fukk down, we need to re-incentivize quality offense.

Shot Clock Reset
- The shot clock will reset to 24 seconds in three scenarios: after an offensive rebound of a missed field goal or free throw that hit the rim; after a loose ball foul is called on the defensive team immediately following a missed field goal or free throw that hit the rim; or after the offensive team gets possession of the ball after it goes out of bounds immediately following a missed field goal or free throw that hit the rim.

I think that is a good start to reverse some of the damage Kerr/D'antoni ball has done to the game. It would also balance the game back from more perimeter centric play and bring back the consequences of not boxing out and having dominant bigs.

Balance is key.

NBA HIT ITS PEAK
IN THE EARLY 2010S...

IM NOT SURE WHY YALL
KEEP POSTING shyt FROM
THE EARLY 2000S AS A GOTCHA MOMENT.

JUST 10 YEARS AGO
THE GAME WAS LIGHT YEARS BETTER
THAN WHAT WE HAVE NOW.

OFFENSE WAS DIVERSE
AND DEFENSE WAS STILL
ALLOWED.

IT WAS A GREAT BALANCE

This is the NBA they’re thinking of

Without realizing the narrative in 2001-2002 was that ratings dropped and it was the reason NBC was like whatever when ABC/ESPN outbid them.

Canadian fans know what I'm talking about with this point, bring Court Surfin to ESPN. Make a RedZone like program that will switch through games as they play when it's a heavy 8+ game slate

Better scheduling, no reason we should be getting 11 games on a Tuesday and one game on a Wednesday

Raise the age stipulations for college players coming in. Want new young stars but the new talent nobody really knows. Make them make them raise their own stock in college first before hitting the league.

The game itself though? I have no clue because the current culture of basketball, not just NBA, might be cooked. They just don't care. It's like there is no pride in them, at least not until they get to the playoffs. I don't understand how we got to this point.

The real fix doesn't exist yet and would be looked at as unethical. Cloning.

You clone all the NBA greats and you make all the bullshyt what if so and so played in this era hypotheticals a reality.

Ratings going through the roof.

How do you age them into young adults and give them the necessary basketball knowledge? :troll:

Why do y'all keep putting all this weight into TV ratings? Cable is dying. Never mind the fact that TV ratings aren't indicative of a product being good or not.

Only the NFL is immune to that and the reason for that has nothing to do with the actual sport/product, itself. If it ever became less American then folks would find something else to do on Sundays.

NBA fans amongst the US public has risen since 2019; people who've played basketball has risen in this country, exponentially, over the same period too. More people across the globe follow the NBA than ever before.
the day the NFL begins to die is when a QB has a game winning drive and then when NBC goes to interview him, he needs an interpreter.

That load management shyt would be OVER with.

There is no way in hell that people that work regular 40+hrs a week should look at somebody being paid millions to play a kid's game for generational wealth and say some dumb shyt like "These guys need more rest!!!" When you are a damn missed paycheck or 2 from being carless and homeless.

Goofy muthafukkaz would probably be on here outraged if a commissioner came out and said if you are really injured, you still get paid, but if you load management, you don't get paid for the games you decide to sit out.
yet the 15th man's check gets to clear every 2 weeks?

I looked at these list and the threads about the regular hood athlete not having a place in the league anymore and I see an easy solution.

Make dunks 3 pts. You can keep the 3pt line exactly where it is but you would rarely see people fan out to the corner on a 3 on 1 break. You can get rid of offensive basket interference so you can play it off the rim like fiba. Run and jump no skilled athletes are back! Euros in shambles. Zion starts losing weight
