I personally Its because yall grew reading all these self help novels. instead of reading for education or fun, reading to be successful or get rich. Directly leads to this type of person influencing you. You see it in book suggestion threads always a book suggested thats about how to be alpha, how to be militant, or get rich. No coincidence you listen to people who try to tell you the same thing in social media.

same types of stories that i enjoy watching on the big screen. If there has been a movie based on a novel in theaters i probably read the book before.
I read Jurassic park years before the movie came out actually.
Also like to read classic literature sometimes, mostly just to understand pop culture references to classic stories and to sound intelligent and well read should the subject come up in conversation. Think the books they assigned for reading in school type stuff. Ironcially there is often overlap between these two categories.
Outside of those two i will read books to help me keep up to date with my profession. I'm an accountant, so finance related books, stuff i feel like will help me stay current in my education. because college was long ago and things related to GAAP can potentially change.
