Mike Conley, is the more complete player imo, he doesn't rain down the points but he is efficient, a good passer and he's a better defender than Derrick Rose.

30 point games are not the be all, end all. DeMar DeRozan has had over 3x as many 30 point games over the last two years as Kawhi Leonard. You taking him over Kawhi?
Rose in the 2015 playoffs averaged 6 more points than Conley did on worse efficiency while playing 8 more minutes a game. And his team got knocked out in the same round as Conley's did.

No my point is that judging players in a vacuum off how many 30 point games they can put up is stupid. Like I said, it's not the be all, end all. And Conley is a better shooter than Derrick Rose is or ever was, on top of also being a significantly better defensive player than Rose is or ever was.
Conley also actually had to miss several games due to injury during that playoff run but we can ignore that.
I look at the playoff run and I see one guy who was exactly what I said he was: An inefficient chucker. You're pointing out 5 games out of 12. What about the other 7 games aka the majority that Rose played in? You know where he averaged 14 points shooting 33% from the field? I could give a damn if a player can give me 34/8 in a game, if the next night he's liable to have 14 points shooting sub 40% with 8 turnovers while falling asleep on defense at the end and letting his man score the game winning basket.
Who is Rose fighting with for 3rd option? Barring poor health leaving his spot to Jennings he's behind Melo and if anything will be fighting for #2 with KP
Has Conley ever been the top option in Memphis?
I mean I'm reading all the replies here and there's this feeling like Rose has peaked and his injuries destroyed him...which it did...but at the same time...Conley is 29 coming off a bad injury. Is he somehow going to be better than he's been over the last 8 or 9 years??

I believe he'd be fighting for 3rd with Jennings and Noah. At least that's where I see him at the beginning of the season. Right now I believe KP is the clear second option, especially after watching some of the adjustments he made during the preseason (attacking smaller guys in the paint, more arc in his 3 point shot, etc.). But maybe Rose will surprise me and play better than I'm expecting... who knows?
Rose is gonna be battling Noah and his backup for #3?
