Bad!
Richard Dreyfuss in every other scene and he old and terrible, then during the credits, he is lecturing you about sharks. Cannot recommend.

The love interest is a manic pixie dream girl but she is accurately depicted as being crazy as hell. Themes of loneliness, depression, trauma, letting go of the past, all that good stuff. I love Shin Godzilla but I'd love to see Anno get back to making more films like this. I could see Ritual becoming one of my all-time favorite films. Fun fact: The main love interest (Ayako Fujitani) is Steven Seagal's daughter. The film is based on a book she wrote about alienation she felt growing up in Los Angeles.

Watched on Hulu. Thought it was an entertaining ride, funnier than I expected. Especially when the film shifts. Some unexpected supporting performances.

from the ppl that brought you Greenland, not surprised as they didn't what to do for the middle of that movie either.
if you survive the movie awkward opening, you get reward with.....shots of a tower from that outside as the aforementioned title character cleaner is stuck out there for reasons on end, more than half the movie.
this is heist movie that not really about the heist, but how millennially awkward we have become. Then the movie ends, and you wonder why you bothered in the first place, 5/10

One of those popular movies from the 80s i never really watched. Gave it a spin. Dumb movie. But Jennifer Beals was cute af in this. Not a great actress but she could've been bigger.
