Spoiler: Assassination of Jesse James ending

Edward O'Kelly came up from Bachelor at one P.M. on the 8th. He had no grand scheme. No strategy. No agreement with higher authorities. Nothing beyond a vague longing for glory, and a generalized wish for revenge against Robert Ford.

Edward O'Kelly would be ordered to serve a life sentence in the Colorado Penitentiary for second degree murder. Over seven thousand signatures would eventually be gathered in a petition asking for O'Kelly's release, and in 1902, Governor James B. Ullman would pardon the man.

There would be no eulogies for Bob, no photographs of his body would be sold in sundries stores, no people would crowd the streets in the rain to see his funeral cortege, no biographies would be written about him, no children named after him, no one would ever pay twenty-five cents to stand in the rooms he grew up in.

The shotgun would ignite, and Ella Mae would scream, but Robert Ford would only lay on the floor and look at the ceiling, the light going out of his eyes before he could find the right words.

This was a good movie...but the dream-like cinematography and the score brought it over the hill for me

i though brad pitt and casey affleck were going to kiss each other for a minute. Brad pitt was in love with himself, and casey was in love with that fact that brad pitt was n love with himself. Brad pitt character almost winked at casey before he shot him.

but as far as the movie goes the best part was the fact that casey affleck had to hear his entire life that he wasn't ben and used 20 years of that bullspit when he was in character. other than that, the movie is way too long, even after jesse jame get killed (Movie more than ten years old and assaination is in the title, kill yo self)

the ending was really good. BUt most of this movie is basically a boy and his dog, which barely works for Fallout 3, let alone this movie. THere is some good world building that is done in between annoying jokes, so I would like the see some movies made in this universe. The special effects were very good for what I am sure was a small budget. THis movie also kills the notion of the one true love, even though half the movie is just that. I liked it, but not enough to replace any of the movies I already had for movies of the year. 8/10

wow, a really convoluted story. I ignored this for most of the year because a podcast gave a not a bad review, but the way he reviewed the movie he made it seem like it wasn't going to be enjoyabe. You know you should actually be interested in most of the films you see right. Someone posted a top 10 list of movies they saw this year recently, and I thought to myself "you know you are supposed to enjoy the film you watch, right". You see a trailer for a movie and its out in left field, you leave that for Barry Bonds.

but back to this movie, most of the bad stuff happens off screen. you alot of flashbacks as a back story, and it really thins the movie out. But then again, how deep did you want a Issa Rae movie to be. A lot of black women should watch this movie and take notes. yet, I won't exclude myself. IF you are a good worker and you like someone. You can be a good worker anyway, this movie proves it, albeit with a deep ass back story. That is the best part of the movie. Simpler movies made my Top 10 list, but there is no reason not to like this. 9/10

p.s. Issa Rae needed her friend to jump on a grenade and she jumps on it. Everubody wins

 

[Nero Christ]

Film is interesting enough even if it feels like it isn't fully realized. The buildup to Fanny "deliverance" is equal parts great and long. She mostly plays the background up until the twist in the third act, but it (the twist) and the acting are strong enough to make this a solid flick. Beautifully shot with the Kubrick zooms and the Barry Lyndon-esque wide shots really give some of the scenes that middle century painting look. It isn't a horror (in the sense most people think) so don't look for that here. Overall, I'd give it 3.25/5
