nice little gothic horror. one of mario bava's better films. normally, i dont like ghost movies but this one has tons of atmosphere and doesnt drag.

Was really impressed by this. And of course like most horror films that play like a metaphor (in this case dementia) casual audiences seem to hate it. I will say as far as the plot goes it might be a little too thin but the suspense is very effective and although the nature of its metaphoric horror makes it hard to give a real horror pay-off the film pulls it off better than I expected. Whatever minor flaws there are though in the limitations of its core theme are fully made up by the ending, which despite being the most fitting (and frankly in my opinion perfect) ending might also be incredibly daring. It subverts expectations in a way most audiences apparently do not get, but I fukking loved it.
