I respect it, it's not a bad movie whatsoever...but I'm in no rush to watch this again. The first Kurosawa film to make me feel that 2 and a half hour runtime.

In fact, Bergman did the whole "redemption of the dying/bitter old man who feels he's wasted his life" motif better in Wild Strawberries, honestly.
