Pretty good but I have to admit

I was a little disappointed when the 2 stories didn't come together. I swore all 4 would meet up by the end of the movie
a pretty good ride with that film, appreciate the space and time used in it..quite visual and toned.

Watch Upgrade again. Still Fyah.

Hotel Artemis...Man.....I have never watched a movie I felt so neutral about. It was so in the middle between it being slightly ok, but right above me kind of not liking it.

Watching The Meg now. Didnt have much interest in it, but its free.

Carrie on steroids :whew:

Might go ahead and call this the better film because it doesn't rely on a single iconic scene

Nah, it's not better than Carrie at all. Calling that a one-scene movie is insane, the prom scene in Carrie is the accumulation of perfect build-up and that's why it's so powerful, and it is something (build-up and accumulation) that this movie lacked.

I felt Thelma ran with the style better. :manny:

Believe me, it's not at all a crime for a story to work toward a climax, but to me Carrie really lives and dies off the prom scene. And I really enjoyed Carrie but...what else is there to talk about?

i can definitely see how influential it was. movie seemed pretty modern itself. hard to believe it came out in 1954.

:banderas::banderas::banderas::banderas:

Now I'm not saying this is better than, but this is shaping up to be the Chinese Godfather. The Departed was cool but it really doesn't have shyt on this.

But let's hope the 3rd movie isn't Godfather 3 status :whoa:

film. The praise I saw this getting, it really wasn't all that...really just an extreme Lifetime/TNT movie. You can also tell this was extremely low budget, but even The Poughkeepsie Tapes as a low budget film along these same lines was more creative, but I guess at the time this did push boundaries. Didn't feel the film really progressed to any point, just stayed in neutral and the showcase of dead bodies accompanied by screams & killer grunts were corny. Positive was that the opening scene & their videotaped kills were tough to watch for me & Rooks was good as an awkward psychotic killer tho. Overall film is just :ld: but I definitely see where future films borrowed from it.
