After rewatching Thief I can't see much Drive-like. Yeah they are criminals that drive around during the nighttime and the top dog is a hard ass with a big ego. It kinda feels like Popeye Doyle as a criminal

Outside of the score and it being about criminals, I don't see much either.

I definitely get a similar vibe, and I can see some inspiration there, but calling it a ripoff is

soundtrack makes the movie for me. without the cinematography coupled with the soundtrack, I wouldn't have liked the movie at all

I don't think it's possible for a movie to suck if this man laces it with pure, heartfelt emotion.

R brings simone back to his place, have sex, then R has to go handle some business
R gives her the key to the flat, says he will be back later
she flips out, kills him, cuts him up, cooks him, eats him...
then she shaves her head and....welp...
