The way my league sees it is that it's the most convenient time and in all fairness, who's gonna base their draft off a series in Australia?Damn, starting after the season starts?

It's always been this way in our leagues.
I know where you're coming from, but your example is flawed.
If you hold on to Harvey, he still holds tremendous keeper value to you.
No. He does not. I'd get nothing from him this season. And I'd end up only getting 1 post-injury question-mark season.
Braun/Kemp/Bautista/etc as a 1st rounders doesn't really have that same value. But they would have ridiculous value as 15th round players. And the player who had to drop them wouldn't have any shot at them because of Yahoo rules.
Furthermore, a player who was dropped and added would have their "contract" reset, which would allow someone to keep Ryan Braun has a 15th rounder for 2 years. That's an absurd advantage imo.
But shouldn't that be exactly the risk you run if you drop a first rounder? That somebody else will get him and enjoy 1st round value for a bargain price?
Hypothetically we could make them lose keeper status if they cleared waivers, but that would give a huge advantage to whoever stays up until 4AM refreshing their browser over and over And I would definitely be that guy.

Same shyt happened with the Japan series a couple of years ago. Eventually it's not even worth discussing (that and the fukkery that ensues with the league I'm in is unheard of in any other league, straight up. Fixed salaries for players, salary caps, FAAB money. It's the kind of the draft that seriously makes you consider making Billy Hamilton a top 10 pick). I love that league though. Did that shyt in Atlantic City last year. That draft was an event
Seems like their status should be at worst lowered, if not erased.
I've been in that one over a decade. When they bring me the book with the prices, my productivity at work declines sharply.I've been looking for/trying to start a hardcore dynasty league like that for years, with no luck. I'm envious.
This is probably worth a discussion, but it would start this season.
Who are you considering keeping that is affected by the misunderstanding?
So then your idea of getting rid of wins was no only faux-progressive, but asinine and already-answered, yes?
Good.
Seems like their status should be at worst lowered, if not erased.
Lets find a draft time.
How would Sunday, March 16th @ ~5:00 EST sounds to everyone?

Ain't that.
It happened in football, Peyton Manning was drafted in football at 15 bucks. He ended up getting hurt and missing the whole season. He got dropped and I picked him up, and stashed him all season, thinking I'd get him as a $1 keeper.
But it turned out that wasn't the case, I wasn't happy, and fought the battle, and lost.
You can't expect Braun as a 15th rounder, he was dropped, and probably everybody but you is under the understanding that Braun wouldn't have been a 15th round keeper, he'd go in the first round or second, I don't remember which.
Plus, didn't you get him off the waiver wire? He never really made it to free agency? If you got him off waivers, then you take on his contract. If he made it all the way to free agency, you'd have a better argument, but like I said, I've fought that battle and lost.
