There were managers that dropped out of the league because they were to busy this year, if he's not active the old managers may choose to come back next year and take his team…. we don't want dead teams in the league!

Why would the guy who got all the picks not come back!?!?!?!?! sheesh. Reading is fundamental!

It's just the beginning you'll see teams realize they can't contend and load up for next year as the season rolls on...

When the trade deadline comes, teams will be forced to make decisions

But it doesn't pay to be conservative in this league

Yeah, this doesn't really sit well with me either.

Not sure how to prevent it though.

Maybe a lottery system for the worst 4 or 5 teams instead of just by standings. Something like the worst 5 teams get the first 5 picks, but the first pick goes to who had the best 2nd half performance (points gained post ASB).

Maybe limit the total number of picks a team can trade...but I'm not sure I like this one.

As long as the tanking team attempts to field a competitive roster/daily lineup it may not be that serious.

We'll see how this plays out, but I'm not OK with how this looks.

That's what I have been saying… otherwise he paid $40 to get all those draft picks for somebody else next year

Basically. If he's not active and he doesn't attempt to field a lineup he probably won't be invited back. Hope that doesn't happen though.

I honestly think the time between after the draft and start of the season is to blame

My point was Kev J better not dip on the league after fukking his team for the next year. Even though I'm positive he will get a lead and start trying to get picks back and end up losing cause thats what he does.

I'm not worried about Kev. He's a nutcase in this league but I trust him to come back.

So its @Listen fault

But nah, I'd have a problem with this level of tanking if it happened any time in the first couple months

I could see this as a strategy in a free league, but when you have money on the line… it's fukking insane to me

Only person I took a flier on from his team is Pujols who is a high risk high reward player since going to the Angels. Got Pujols in 2 of my 3 leagues now, so I'm banking on him having a rebound year

Because you basically let teams redraft the league with your roster.

Because it sucks ass and you know it. This is technically a form of collusion. Theoretically you could both do this every other year.

Yes, the specter of collusion is there, too. Though, I don't think that's what it is. I just think it's somebody copping out, and fukking up the balance of the league.

Here's a thought… Vote to veto trades… it's already an option! PEOPLE POWER!

Yes, we could have vetoed every trade. shyt, I did. But the individual trades weren't what suck, it's the overall redistribution.

You can't be conservative in this league

Shut the fukk up. You tanked last year, and sold out for picks this year. It's not about being conservative, it's about trying to field a competitive team, or not. And he's not, this year. Period.

It's not collusion, dude had like 9 trades with 5 different people

You could have had any of those players if you were willing to give up the picks

He posted the prices and people paid

He shouldn't be posting the prices of players and having a fukking liquidation sale 3 weeks before the season starts. Don't draft in the first place.

I honestly think the time between after the draft and start of the season is to blame

No. What's to blame is a player throwing up the white flag, putting his whole roster up for sale, and basically forcing people to try to rape the roster for talent, just to stay competitive or keep somebody ELSE from getting that talent.

I could see this as a strategy in a free league, but when you have money on the line… it's fukking insane to me

He's basically paying 80 to play next season. You can only keep 5 guys. So most of the young players he traded for will be out the door anyway, trust the guy who's drafted taveras twice now.

It's just funky. And it means we should have had somebody else in the league. They would have drafted better, and not felt the need to unload everyone for $.50 on the dollar.
