Coli Fantasy Baseball Keeper League Season 5 (2014) [DRAFT DONE...now we wait]

It was originally set for March 2nd, but since our "expansion" manager will have to select his after everyone else I moved it up one week. I wanted to make sure there was a full week of prep-time before the draft.

Seems pretty early, not even any spring training in...

Yea, but the season starts March 22 this year with that Aussie series. And @Listen said he was out of town the week before that....so its March 9 or some owners will lose stats from Dodgers/Dbacks players

Welp, my keeperz were fairly easy to decide.

As an aside, the reason Kevin was mentioning how early the keepers are is for injury....aka, in spring training Votto blows out his knee.

And @DaNamelessPimp hasn't taken his team yet, so we may only have 13 and then we can push it back a week

also; I'm struggling with deciding my keepers. kinda want to see how things go in spring training with some of my young guys before I make my decision.

I've got an idea to prevent an injury situation...after the keepers are chosen/before the draft, you have the option to release any of your keepers. You'll only get the pick back, not another player, but it will save people from keeping players with major injuries.

If people want to change the dates for keepers, sial up. It will mean less draft prep time, but we can change things

Well, the thing is, it's usually done as late as possible to avoid that option. In Football, for example, we do the draft as close as possible to the opening Thursday night game. I think this year it was the Tuesday night before the season (to again, avoid drafting guys who get injured before the season starts). The keepers were do the week before so people knew who to remove from the draft board.
