Bryce Harper is available... Someone will draft him within the first two rounds next year...
SI.com's Tom Verducci has been told by a Nationals source that Bryce Harper has been playing through a right shoulder injury for the last two months.
The shoulder injury has gone unreported previously. Harper has been sidelined for nearly a week with what's been called neck spasms, but Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post now says that it's a combination of the shoulder and neck issue that's holding Harper out. The nagging ailments would help explain the reigning National League MVP's relatively disappointing season. Verducci says that it's believed Harper hurt his shoulder on a head-first slide two months ago the injury has been "particularly problematic" for the outfielder when he's trying to pull his bottom hand through his swing. For what it's worth, general Mike Rizzo denies Verducci's report. "Tom Verducci is wrong," Rizzo said Friday.
Tough break kid.
