I'm at the table for this one. Need two more people.
We should create group where you can submit your tracks too, and see what gets on and what gets cut.
I'll be in the jury as well, since I have no stake as a artist or a producer I can try my best at being unbiased. I also want to get this out since I do have stake in the cover showing up in different places.
Do you have skype?
so pretty much i'm saying...lets start off promoting this mixtape by letting The Booth vote for two songs head to head. the winner makes the mixtape. we should have a week voting period and as soon as voting ends we drop the pre-mixtape EP (5-8 songs max). at that point, i say we look at the buzz around the mixtape based on response.
if things are going well and the voting for the head to head goes well, i say we do one more with some late entries. after that week we drop the official tape. if we get a lot of submissions for the mixtape we go ahead and drop a post-mixtape EP with different songs. the EPs keep everyone interested in whats going on. we basically give everyone a month at the most to get everything together, and take over Coli for a month.
but then again...i'm in that state of mind where i feel like i'm rambling. i'm just throwin some ideas out to make it pop.
i feel like the contests gotta be artist vs. artist too, not just like which song by this one artist should go on the tape. everyone loves the competition. why not give everyone something to bet on too with that Coli cash. mods give everyone an extra 500 make it the highest betting thing too.
I don't like the competition idea, that might be just me, but I would rather see this came out almost out of nowhere.
There's no need to "build buzz" on the forum that already has it's name, the downloads from this forum are almost already guaranteed. What we need are those that's not on this forum, this isn't just promotion for the artists/producers but for the Coli community and The Tunnel community.
We need to focus on getting this up on other pages I could probably animate a "behind the scenes" look at how I made the cover and with that drop a single from the mixtape.
This way no one has to worry about a competition that might stifle the workflow and instead focus on making good music.
