I dont support men who dress up as women. Thats not entertainment to me. Its foolishness.

I'm sensitive about the black male image, which is currently in the toilet from all this "media" and "entertainment"

But if you're creating legal avenues for blacks to feed their families without having to bow down and kiss the white man's ass, I cant do anything but salute you. Doesn't mean I have to support or be a paying customer.

If I write a script for a TV show, I get credit no matter who show it is...


You not supposed to take someone's script and put your name on it...

This becomes an issue because if you are a TV writer and you on contract with a show and you over here writing scripts but the showrunner keeps putting his name on the shyt like he wrote it...then when that show ends...what the fukk are you gonna do...

Tyler Perry isn't the only one that does that, Andy Sorkin did too....which is why no TV writer likes fukking with him...

Yeah that's trash. Kinda dumb, too. The legal and common thing to do is buy their scripts, then put your name on it. That happens like the sun rises but fukk him if he's stealing. Especially since he's loaded.

He's had to tone down certain things that made him popular in the black community so he could crossover. He basically breathed life into the OWN network with his shows. He might use the same themes, tropes, cliches and archetypes over and over again but so do many major Hollywood writers and directors. I may not appreciate all of his works but I admire his work ethic.....and his old stuff is still funny

Apparently he's doing a deal with viacom to put out a bunch of shows (the article said upwards of 90 episodes) for BET and other channels. They will also have exclusive rights to that and short films he does for them. That's a pretty big deal and definitely a win for a dude that come up how he did to own what I believe is the largest studio outside of Hollywood. But, considering that his stuff is 99% about the black experience, and I've heard differing views as the years go on, I figured I'd ask.

What do y'all think of Tyler? I think it's black excellence like we haven't seen in a long time but that could all change at the drop of a hat. I'm not a madea fan and don't think I ever will be but I always respected him as an entertainer and a mogul.

You can tell dude has some deep seated issues regarding the community. Flip side, he has opened doors for a lot of people. I'm neutral on him. He isn't nearly as bad as Lee Daniels.
