I've thought about it, but it just might be a little out of my price range in terms of the miles I'm looking at. Also, aren't the maintenance costs on those pretty high? I hear just the oil itself for an oil change is 100 bucks.

I picked my M3 up for $24.3k with 78k miles on it. I passed on the extended warranty cause it was about 2k for 1 year or 3.5k for 2 years.

If you diy you can save hundreds of dollars in maintenance cost. If you do the oil change yourself it is about $100 because the car takes 10w60 oil. A shop quoted me $160 to change the oil on my car. I'm in the process right now to get all the tools I need to work on my own car. I can afford to pay an indy shop but I want to learn how to work on cars and I think my M3 the perfect car to work on.

I'm looking at cars with less than 50k miles. 78k is too high for my blood.

I'm not sure what type of brakes you have on your bmw but some high performance brakes have a lot of metal on metal grinding and the mini vibrations that occurs in between the metal causes the noise

they're brembos. the noise seems to go away for a few days if i either make a few hard stops, or clean the wheels & calipers really good.

do the brakes on your M3 squeal?

don't quote me on this, but I've read that the brake dust can get in-between the pads and rotors which will cause the squealing noise at low speeds.

yea they do when Im riding the brakes at low speeds, around 0-10 mph.

Can you buy a used BMW, take it to a dealer, have them inspect, and then buy a CPO type warranty?

you should ask the seller if you can take the car to the dealer to get a PPI done on it before you buy it. Only certain cars bought from a dealership will become a CPO with a warranty. You can buy an extended warranty from the dealership.

I only had my M3 for about 5/6 months now and I already put 10k miles on the car. So I'm looking to get a beater BMW so I can start modding the M3. Does anyone have any recommendations for something under 10k preferable with a manual transmission?
