He didn’t do anything wrong. Just the fact that he was gone for the past several months due to injury combined with Sami being as over as he is, had some people thinking if Sami didn’t win the rumble the fans would revolt.

One observation from tonight: That smark audience that used to invade shows, is no longer there and hasnt been for awhile now.

You didnt see any chants for Sami during Cody's promo. I dont think they're gonna have this dillema where the fans are gonna rebel about the Mania main event now. Whether they've chosen to finally stop watching and just moved to AEW, it aint there like before. Sure a guy can absolutley get over with the audience that wasnt planned (and I do think once Triple H took over the plan was to use Sami more though) but you're not gonna get people rejecting if they stay off course

I think the plan has always been get more heat on Roman through Sami and then use that to go against Cody while he and KO go against the Usos and win that.

Now do I think Cody is finally going to be the one to beat Roman? I dont know. I dont think Vince would have wanted that for a number of reasons (the guy who got big on the outside beating their homegrown star. Building Roman like Brock is usually for someone handpicked to beat him that they are grooming as the next guy) But Triple H dont seem to care and its telling how much of that is from still having some gamemanship about the other company to make their guy the face.

You clearly forget the only time we ever had the WWF World Champ vs WCW World Champ, Vince booked the WCW World Champ to go over. He booked a WCW midcarder to go over arguably the biggest WWF homegrown star. Not only that, he beat the 2 biggest WWF stars of the AE in the same night.
