No
  • Cody is considered High End, High Card billing in the Indies; commanding top dollar, making even more than some of the lower-mid card guys on WWE.
  • Gets to rest his ass when he feels like it
  • fukks Eden
  • Not to mention Cody would be wasted on WWE Programming
I don't miss him, but I am glad he is gone from WWE, so he can be free of the bullshyt.

wrestling is the ultimate "forget about you quickly" business. Think about it. How many times you look up and realize you haven't seen a wrestler on TV in 4-5 weeks? By the time you do you're like :yeshrug:

He's been all over the place on the indies, PWG, TNA, ROH, GFW (laff) and has had two matches with Kurt Angle.

I haven't seen most of these matches, but from what I can tell none of it has really stood out, not even his matches with Kang Kurt. Has he had any match that would even crack a top 50 of 2016 list?

Character wise, seems like he really has no gimmick, he's basically just a generic Indy dude living off the fact that he's Cody Rhodes, ex-WWE superstar. I don't think anyone expected him to churn out 5-star matches on the regular, but he seems to have some charisma so his character is where he really should be trying to shine on the indies.

His claim to fame seems to be winning some trash GFW title from Double J and defending it in elementary school gyms

shyt's sad. I'm really not trying to trash on dude cause he seems like he loves the business, and pops is obviously a legend, but this is looking like another Damien Sandow case of a guy who really overvalues his worth.

Lmao..the thing is in the WWE, they had a ceiling for him..THEY CHOSE TO make the Shield, Cena, Blandy..those kind of guys stars..they didn't want to push Cody like that...same like they don't want to push Cesaro, Shelton, Kofi, MVP, any of those guys. They paying Randy Orton all that money and this guy is the anti draw...a str8 muck. A nobody. A tall dude who does good dropkick, Chinlocks, gets protected booking, and has athletic guys take his finishers in different ways to give the illusion he's a stand out. Horrible.

Not sad. I'm sure he had the chance to return as Cody Rhodes when dusty passed but stuck with stardust to "finish what he started".
Actually they went against him returning as CODY..as all his interviews have stated over and over again. It's called being..out of touch.

Let's be fair. It's been six months and at the least people still have Cody on their minds. What's the last time you wondered about what Wade Barrett and Ryback were up to?
I just saw Ryback vs Matt Hardy in a classic

But what did they miss out on? He's basically doing right now what he does when you give him free reign creatively and the result is a generic Indy dude in generic Indy tights with no real standout appeal. They looked at him, saw what he offered and figured Stardust was the best use for him. Maybe he'll prove em wrong in a year or two, but right now I can't be mad at it.

Been saying this for years. The rko is way more over than randy has ever been himself.

Nah.that's too easy a generalization. The fact of the matter is..when they wanted to make Regins a millionaire? They did. Bottom line. And they used this kid as fodder. And that's just the way it was. You can dismiss it as generic but most things in the WWE is generic which is why you got fans cheering for heels like AJ Styles and disregarding matches and cheering for Lana out of the blue.

You can't possibly think Rhodes has as much star potential as Roman Reigns
