To add on, I think he's more focused on the behind the scenes stuff and other projects (reality show, the Starz show with Stephen Amell, the show on TBS with Snoop) than trying to hog every major storyline. People will complain one way or the other in regards to his storylines but IMO I'd rather him be in a feud with QT Marshall's bum-ass than being the one battling Omega.

I think the issue is that you know this feud is going to go 7 months with no progression and then just kind of get dropped, no one involved will have benefited, and Cody will continue to feel like he's completely disconnected from the rest of the show and roster.

Like everything Cody does it felt like someone play acting as a wrestler. Nothing natural or organic about it. Just this desperate attempt to be seen as great without actually delivering anything near greatness.

I'm guessing this leads to feuding with the students of The Nightmare Factory who will put him out of action in time for him to be there for the birth of his kid. Could be a Double or Nothing Match with Cody, Dustin, Lee Johnson, and someone else vs QT, former Mr. Bayley, Anthony Ogogo, and Nick Comorato.

Why can't it be someone worth watching on TV instead... like the guy who kayfabe injured him (Penta)? Cody keeps giving these jabronis shine when they don't need it. Build up a true mid-card/upper mid-card heel like Penta, Pac, Archer or someone like that.

Cody was having 20 minute matches with Indy jabronis whenever he was TNT champion instead of putting over guys like Sammy, Darby, etc.

His actual gimmick is a face that has to defend himself from viewers' opinions because he gave himself a stupid ass executive role and then played it on TV as part of a never-ending storyline. He is so pigeon-holed with this shyt, that he will never live it down as a face. How many times will he mention the criticism of having the biggest pyro for no reason? What does that do to remind us that you blowing the bank on yourself because you're a VP? Even if it's in storyline...

So when you helped start the company, and you're forced to be a great ambassador for the company, you then have to be on your weekly TV show to capitalize. However like said, he is average when it comes down to it, so doesn't really yield much.

He tryna play that John Cena company man, but you have to be able to back it up...

Wife calls me a hater when I shyt on Cawdy, but dude really rubs me off the wrong way. Like the entire AEW just seems like this huge ass vanity project to "stick it" to Trips and McMahon. At least Dustin knew his stance with the business and Dusty had a method of madness with his weird tirade in the game. Cody just trying to be more than "smoke and mirrors", but people seeing through that shyt.

Cody is just naturally pretty unlikable and the only reason it seems he's a face in AEW is because it wouldn't exist without him. When there were real crowds, he came off like a real narcissist when he'd stand and soak in the praise. Arguably he comes off worse when the only audience you see are his employees. Hopefully they're saving a big heel turn for real audiences again.

Imo,....i wish cody would embrace being vincent von doom cody.
Where he gets attacked just like back in the day.
Then goes back to vincent von cody in a plastic mask. Where he plays a vega meets von doom type. Yet currently he will not play vulnerable enough on screen for real. To make it as believeable.
as it was before under duress in the wwe system at that time.
Outside of stardust. Stardust being his best focused character.
