Bill O’Reilly’s remarks on race last week drew heavy criticism from Chris Hayes, Bill Maher,Al Sharpton, Larry Wilmore, and more, but one unlikely person is agreeing with him: CNN hostDon Lemon.

Lemon addressed the wounds inflicted by black males onto their community on his “No Talking Points” segment Saturday afternoon, saying he was able to bring this up now that the George Zimmerman trial had concluded. Before the verdict, right wing media had consistently asked why the “liberal media” was fixating on Trayvon Martin while ignoring rampant black-on-black violence, a “deflection,” in Lemon’s words, from the injustices of the Martin shooting. But now that Zimmerman had been acquitted, it was time “for some tough love on the subject.”

Lemon played a clip of O’Reilly stating, “The reason there is so much violence and chaos in the black precincts is the disintegration of the African American family…Raised without much structure, young black men often reject education and gravitate towards the street culture, drugs, hustling, gangs. Nobody forces them to do that. Again, it is a personal decision.”

“Bill’s got a point,” Lemon said. “In fact, he’s got more than a point…In my estimation, he doesn’t go far enough.”

Lemon then listed five essential reforms black men need to make in their lives in order to improve themselves and their communities: hike up their pants, remove the n-word from their vocabulary, take care of their communities, finish high school, and lower the rate of children born out of wedlock.

“More than 72% of children in the African Americans are born out of wedlock,” Lemon said. “Studies show that lack of a male role model is an express train right to prison, and the cycle continues.”

“Please, pay attention to and think about what has been presented in recent history as aceptable behavior,” Lemon finished. “Pay close attention to the hip hop and rap culture that many of you embrace, a culture that glorifies everything I just mentioned, thug and reprehensible behavior, a culture that is making a lot of people rich—just not you. And it’s not going to.”

“That said, though, the political right is not off the hook.” Lemon played a clip of Kirsten Powersremarking on how convenient it was the conservative media only cares about black violence when they can use it to “stick it to the black community.”

lets just call it what it is...bill is demonizing american black culture, which affects the image of blacks also.
don really is having a fake negro outrage...he thinks bill is helping blacks, but bill is hurting blacks and don, who usually is supportive of positive black images, is really c00ning.

Wow I'm shocked! An effimnate black guy bowing down to white racists in order to keep his job on the plantation.

Disgusting.

And nikkas wonder why I don't watch CNN. If I want to hear the voice of the white power structure, I'll just turn on Fox. At least I can get the demonic message straight from the demon's mouth instead of the toned down PC version these homo liberals will spout.

And predictably the left is responding with racial and gay slurs against this man for simply telling the truth. Do you notice how no one actually disputes anything that O'Reilly and Lemon are saying? They just respond with name calling.

Liberals have a well known difficulty acknowledging and accepting the truth. They prefer to live in their fact free bubbles.

He's as worst as the conservatives. Black culture isn't all about hip hop, sex, and violence and to stereotype black culture as all that it is, is dishonest and prejudice.

Bill O'Reilly acknowledging uncomfortable truths doesn't mean he hates black people. He just knows ignoring the problem like you left wingers want to do is only going to make things worse.

nobody is trying to ignore problems holding back the black community. And i aint a left winger. Both conservatives and liberals are two sides of the same coin if you ask me. Both terms are used to by politicians to keep the people squabbling over bread crumbs while we ignore the bigger issues at hand :manny: And looks like they are succeeding too since you use the term "left winger" to quickly dismiss anything i said. :heh:

I just dont wanna hear Bill O'reilly lecturing me about the perils of black culture when he's the same dude who dismissed Obama getting re-elected by saying that the white establishment is no longer the majority. WHen the truth is that the "white conservative who fears black people" is no longer the majority which makes the Southern Strategy ineffective. Btw, whether a democrat or repub get elected we still gonna catch Ls. :pachaha:

Two things..

First Don Lemons is a fukking idiot. He got "schooled" by a white commentator and by the white lady who ran the NY initiative. They explained the problem at its simplest form. The problem in the black community is disenfranchisement and racism. Point blank and period.

Second, his list was total bullshyt. He listed the first two problems as sagging pants and saying the N-word. REALLY?! That's the top two problems in the black community?! Nothing he said after that was relevant for me because his list started out with bullshyt. Perhaps if he had started with the lack of (or limited) education and economic opportunities for blacks then I would have been with him.

I'm sick of folks talking to black people in this manner. I don't care about your bullshyt list or statistics. Until you actually DO one thing (any thing) to help with the problems (e.g. Policy changes, law changes, providing scholarships etc) then fukk your list AND the condescension.

I am not dismissing what you said. Actually you were the one dismissing everything Bill O'Reilly said by instinctively calling him racist instead of addressing the substance of his words. While O'Reilly is trying to discuss serious issues all you can do is name call.

You have been conditioned to scream racism every time you hear a viewpoint you don't like rather than engage in a substantive discussion. That is one of the problems in this country.

I don't agree with dismissing racism, racism is a serious issue or more specifically the violation of individual rights is a serious issue, but as far as culture I agree, I've been saying the same thing that black people havin what is essentially an anti academic culture has a worse impact than white racism, so I would pretty much agree with don lemon

It is 2013. Blaming all of black people's problems on evil white people holding them down becomes more and more laughable every year.

It is not surprising that you don't care about statistics because statistics disprove everything you say. Look at the poverty rates of black people who graduate high school and wait until marriage to have kids versus black people who drop out of school and have tons of kids out of wedlock. The disparities are amazing and prove that the lack of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY is the biggest obstacle holding back black people in America. But brainwashed morons like yourself would rather cry about racism while every other racial group like Asians, Hispanics, et continue to blow past you.

You are an idiot.
