Punk did bring the title back though. His reign was shyt but the fact that he had Heyman carrying the gold and keeping count made the WWE title mean something again. Punk may finally have gotten the WWE title so over that they finally will unify both world titles

Punk holding the belt itself for that long of a period is an accomplishment and he should be saluted for it. Cats complained for a long time about the belt being devalued because of the hot dogging back and forth for the past 5 years but yet dude held it for 400 something days and brought credibility back to it.

If it was meant to be transitional, that shyt could've changed hands all thru 2012 without having just one person hold it. He got that run, he became a very credible heel, he officially became one of the top guys in the company, and it's something he can talk about as a heel forever (just like Jericho uses "I beat the Rock and Stone Cold...". It was the push that every CM Punk defender swore he'd never get... and they complained about it the whole time.

If he was so irrelevant, then frankly he wouldn't have been given that ball to run with for that long a time, and then to lose it to Rock. He ran successfully as a face AND a heel thru it all, and can now have high profile feuds with or without the belt being involved. I don't know how in the hell y'all are now managing to try and compare him to people who literally held the belt just to move it between two people.
