How is Punk supposed to single-handedly get Attitude era ratings?
The product has been stale as fukk for YEARS.
The man undeniably has superstar presence and charisma, but how was he supposed to get to Austin or Rock or even Bret Hart level? Feuding against Jack Swagger or something?

Of course Rocky gets followers... all the kids think he's cool and he's got thousands of fans from the previous era where more people actually gave a fukk about wrestling cause it wasn't this stale PG bullshyt. That's just common sense.

I think it's dishonest to blame the low ratings and low drawing power of the company on Punk, when the company has botched everything for years.

When they had a chance to build up Punk or even Ryder, they just doubled up on Cena and made Punk into yet another cowardly douche.

I don't even give a shyt about the ratings, but the truth is the truth. Raw had been getting "bad" ratings 2 years ago, now they are getting some of the lowest in the show's history. That's a direct reflection on the show, it's champion, it's writers, and the talent roster as a whole.

So Raw did a 2.7 on Monday. So what?

The Raw after Wrestlemania was one of the GOAT Raw's I've ever seen. It only did a 3.3. A fukking 3.3, with a rumoured Lesnar appearance, on the Raw right after a Wrestlemania where THE ROCK won in the main event.

The whole product is flabby and sick, but for nikkas to start analysing 2.7's like (in the grand scheme of things) they're worse than six months ago is just fukking sad.

I don't particularly care about ratings either, there are many other aspects of the wrestling business I find a lot more interesting.

BUT, something I do wonder about ...

Could the fact that it's a three-hour show now have something to do with low ratings in overruns? People getting burned out sitting through three hours of what is mostly pretty forgettable television, and just tuning out before the show even ends?

I don't study this shyt so I might be off base, but to me it kinda makes sense.

Cause it gives nikkas something to talk about between Mondays. It really makes NO difference who main events or opens the show week to week cause the entire product is stale. They're pulling in the same 3-4 million viewers weekly. If you want to talk about Punk, then you gotta talk about Cena, AJ, Vickie, Lawler/Cole, Del Rio, Josh Matthews, HHH, Vince McMahon and the whole damn creative team.
