Clyde Drexler's career and resume is looking pretty good compared to these guards who will retire ringless journeymen

  • NBA champion (21ppg starter)
  • 3 NBA finals
  • 5x all NBA (consider the shooting guards of the era)
  • NCAA title game
  • 2 gold medals
Got to play with his homie Hakeem twice and go to title game/series both times. Led 2 blazer teams to the finals.

Would you rather have the career of Clyde drexler, or James harden, Chris Paul, dame Lillard, Paul George, etc (today's stars who ain't gonna do it almost certainly)

CLYDE WAS SEEN AS
THE 2ND BEST SG OF HIS ERA
BEHIND JORDAN AND ALL
OF THOSE OTHER GUYS WOULD
BE BEHIND JORDAN TOO
SO I DONT THINK HE WAS THE
RIGHT PERSON FOR THE THREAD.

You right, but If I said "best guards since 1985" how long would it take until we mentioned Clyde? I'm not waxing poetic about him like some do to big up an era over another but I think we just kind of assumed those guys would get theirs, and it's becoming clear as this generation starts to pivot they likely won't.

This thread is premature

CP, PG, Dame could all still win rings as contributing starters

And calling CP3 and PG journeyman is wild, they been all-nba players for every franchise they played for
What does that achievement mean when they never accomplish anything when it matters? At any stop?

Dame could, but I don't see it right now.
