Did y'all hear what Stephen A Smith said?. He said when I first got to first take there was nothing but white folks. He said where the brothas and sistas at? you don't think I'm going to be sitting here working with a bunch of white folks? That's the kind of stuff I wish I could say. I'm definitely a fan
And u believe that c00n? :mjlol:

Especially considering that he's shown on multiple instances in being compromised when it comes to white folks :mjlol:
I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. He probably pushed for more diversity but only after he had some type of leverage and certainly not in a demonstrative way.

There is only a few more black guests now than there was before. That bald headed c00n just trying to grandstand with revisionist history.

Based on the SAS interview I think Shannon is just going to be another beast in the barnyard on First Take.

Shannon knows how to work with Divas and guys who like the spotlight, he worked with Ray Lewis, John Elway, and Skip Bayless so he knows how to work with big wigs. But unless he's going to flip ESPN appearances to his own show SAS is going to keep him from getting big.

SAS big boy'd Shannon on his own show and talked to him like he didnt make himself one of the biggest sports personalities in less than 7 years.

Nah, he’s basically making sure he stays in the industry and part of the conversation. That allows him to keep growing his other brands and creates a lane to go viral. Shannon is too popular for it not to eventually become his own thing. He’s better than whoever they have leading into first take.

I think SAS is very self serving when it comes to the industry. If it doesn't help him then he doesn't do it. Skip is the same way. SAS couldve used his weight to add Shannon to another show (which is what works best for Shannon) but he added him on a show that's already crowded but he has full control of (First Take).

SAS didn't do this because he likes Shannon so much. He did it to keep a threat under his own management. This way if Shannon wants to leave First Take or SAS gets irritated with him, Shannon has nowhere to go on ESPN.

I've worked in corporate for 15 years, "industry friends" aren't friends in the industry they are just people in the industry you can bend to your agenda easily.

This is a chess move for SAS personal goals as a broadcaster, not a charity move.

You just don't like the dude, which is fine but everything you're saying is conjecture. On what basis can you claim that Stephen A can just get Shannon his own show? ESPN just let go Keyshawn and Irvin who are the closest people to him at the entire network.

I honestly don't think SAS really has the power and sway like that to be influencing those type of decisions. Yeah he can lobby for it like he did with Irvin to come back, but it obviously won't be his final call.

With that being said, it is phony that he brought up how Skip did Shannon when he essentially did the same thing to Max. It is sort of a chess move for SAS as he does benefit in looking like he helped Shannon out and in the process benefits from the celebrity paths that Shannon has come into contact with from his podcast.

Lol I think you got it twisted on who's bigger or who needs who. Shannon is the one with a podcast approaching 2M subs and does over a mil views per clip. Shannon is the one with a lot of entertainment industry connects. Shannon or "Unc" is the one with social media clout from a younger audience. Make no mistake, SAS wants to be where Shannon is right now.

You're living in the past with how relevant ESPN is...he doesn't need to get "big" on there (not like SAS can prevent that anyway).

SAS is the Executive Producer of FT. That means the network trusts him HEAVILY as the person who make decisions on who appears on camera, who is apart of the off Camera crew and the topics debated.

The same way Skip told Jamie (Horowitz) he wouldn't do Undisputed unless Shannon got the shot (and he isn't even the EP of that show) is the same way SAS (who is the EP of his show) directly controls who is on the show and who aint on FT.

I'm not operating on conjecture I'm operating on the facts of how that industry runs, who's running things currently, the playbook many corporate types operate out of, and SAS history.

I think SAS is very good at what he does which is by his own admission to "make as much money as possible for the bosses and figure out how I can get some of it."
