yeah, Chad Hugo's name isn't anywhere in the credits where the songs are listed individually, even though it says "ALL SONGS PRODUCED BY THE NEPTUNES"

I might still be wrong of course, but this is from a reissue. The CD I bought in 2006 had more detailed credits.

u could be right, i haven't owned the physical copy of the cd since 2009 when i lost it and never replaced it. i honestly don't remember.
Yeah its frustrating, I don't have the CD with me to check. As I've been trying to remember, I think Chad played keyboards on Trill and Nightmares, but Pharrell produced everything.

I don't think Chad was involved at all on Casket Drops.

yeah, that reminds me of recently like a year or so ago when Chad said they were getting things worked out on the credits to Pusha T's album because he had done some work on there that he hadn't recieved credit for.

i believe that.

Casket Drops is another one much like Hath No Fury, that i think says "Produced by The Neptunes" but i question if Chad was even involved at all

i love how mfs pretend that they care about Chad being involved in anything. Pharrell was and will always be the BRAINS in producing. Chad is just a beat maker, he ain't telling the artist how the flow should sound, what the hook should be, directing how the artist says a certain word, all of the success comes from Pharrell being hands on which is what a PRODUCER IS IN THE FIRST PLACE, just how D.Dot gave you game on how sh works.

Still dropping this month?

Not to expose myself but when it was getting mixed we were under the impression that it was coming

June 21st

But since they’re being open about it, idk what that means.. when I posted about it in May, it was still pegged as a “surprise album” honestly. I didn’t expect any announcement as a precursor

I think Chad is credited on 2 songs from what I remember. Kind of weird that he won't be involved in this.

I guess P and Chad still haven't worked their situation out. I'll take a new Clipse album though.

They’ve been drifting apart for quite some time and when you got two dudes and one is an introvert while the other is a social beast, stuff is bound to happen. At some point I think Chad decided to crack out of his shell a bit but time (in terms of the industry) has gone bye.

He wanted to sit for a bit and Pharrell kept cranking out music this entire time. look back at the Madonna “Hard Candy” album, “Little Miss Havana” by Gloria Estefan, “ HHNF” by the Clipse, all of the stuff he did with Ariana, his “GIRL” album and even the last NERD album. That was all him and add in the BBC/Ice Cream stuff, the hotel, the Hans Zimmer stuff. Dude made it clear without saying that he didn’t “need” Chad.

Now this Neptunes name lawsuit is likely the final nail in their situation. And during this whole time, Chad done got divorced from his chick, his kids grew up, married a new chick and had kids with her. How much music was he even pushing out all this time?

I’d be shocked if these dudes link up again.

Yup.

Their agreement was no matter who does what, we get credited as The Neptunes.

At some point around 2009ish Pharrell was cranking out a ton of music on his own and it was obvious it was his stuff solo as a producer. The 4 beat count beat count becomes more of a thing to a point where it’s a regular thing. They weren’t event in Virginia anymore because Pharrell moved to Miami.

People drift apart but if your mans ain’t trying to do as much work as yall used to then you gotta keep it pushing. But are you splitting the pie 50-50 still? Maybe out of loyalty but when 100% of the work is yours then do what you gotta do. This industry shıt ain’t for Chad and he’s also not in his 20s anymore like when they first started. Things change.
