They're different, but RPG fans generally rally around any new big RPG. Reddit almost crashed yesterday when they announced the Oblivion event for today. If it shadow drops, it'll dominate gaming news for the next two weeks.
I feel like when it comes to WRPGs and JRPGs people have a preference and it's usually a hard one. People into JRPGs more are unlikely to put the newest highest profile one on the backburner for a WRPG. The reality is WRPGs are more popular though.

So you're paying for a sub and then buying said game on the same platform anyway? At least if you had a Pro you'd get a better version :hhh:
I do depending on the game, sometimes I even play a game on GP I had zero interest in and end up loving it and buying it afterwards. :yeshrug:
But I could be asking you a similar question you could get 2 months of GP for the price of the game and yet you plan on buying it on your PS5 pro I assume?

It doesn’t matter, people only have so much time in the day to play these long rpg games. When xbox has been marketing Clair obscur as their big rpg for the month then shadow drop another one, people are going to have to decide. They’re both western rpgs btw

One of them is in the style of a JRPG and the other is not. I guess I can't speak for everyone but if Persona 6 and Elder Scrolls VI came out on the same day I'm playing Persona 6 first with out a 2nd thought.

Sadly the only game thats gonna get hurt media wise from this is E33. Oblivion is just too much of a pillar of WRPGs to not still the thunder if it is released this week.

With that said, it'll probably be great for MS and Gamepass, the optics will be great. For 20 something bucks you can play Oblivion, E33, and Doom in like 2 weeks time...but it'll def hurt E33 a bit.

I think E33 will probably do better in Asia regions while Oblivion will be hot at least the 1st week everywhere else.

It might play like a jrpg but the storytelling, characters and themes are still western. I don’t see Clair Obscur selling well in Japan or other asian countries

You're whole shtick has been spreading the gospel of "Free games" and not spending X amount of dollars on games and how you're saving so much yet you go do the opposite which completely makes no sense from what YOU typically say. Me buying the game on PC or PS5 Pro is irrelevant because I'm not constantly on here counting people's pockets.

Sometimes people still want to own certain games even tho they are on a subscription service.

You stans have stan narratived yourselves into a corner where you are confused about normal behavior. Subscriptions and game sales don’t have to be at odds with each other. Hell a big perk of gamepass is exclusive discounts on the purchase of gamepass games.

I purchased the SOM collectors stuff cause i thought it looked cool and i wanted to support the devs.

Doesn’t mean I don’t find value in gamepass.

Nice reflection. That's YOU and Mid's behavior. Stay jumping into people's pockets like "I'm getting it on GP for free :damn:!" and ":damn: Y'all paying $70 a game :damn: GP :damn:"

We're not the ones always talking like it's the end of the world to buy a full priced game.

I am still unsure why they didn't wait a week or 2 to let this game get some hype. This game looks promising but one of the most beloved RPGs is going to cannibalize sale and time. It's already tough for a new IP, and I am not exaggerating but this is going to harm this team big time. I think most gamers are going to wait for a sale now because Oblivion is a special game.

Yeah, people going crazy over oblivion. I have faith this game will be a generally more enjoyable experience, especially since it doesn’t look like a 20 year old game with a graphic mod

Now im counting pockets:mjlol:

Sony stans be all over the place, me saying gamepass is great and a great value doesn't mean I don't buy games that are on gamepass. It's really hard for yall to understand that, but I guess its just like its really hard for me to understand why you would pay full price for a game that you can sub to a service for 2-3 months that includes it.
